A genuine institution in Italy and beyond, the Giro d'Italia experiences the elite of world cycling on the roads of Italy every year. A legendary Grand Tour founded in 1909 by the famous newspaper printed in pink, La Gazzetta Dello Sport, a TAG Heuer partner.

The Giro is known for its prestigious pink jersey and its leading riders. Inspired by legends like five-time winner Fausto Coppi, teams and cyclists strive both physically and mentally to handle the pressure of the round’s 21 stages.

In 2017, as part of the tour’s hundredth edition, TAG Heuer became its Official Timekeeper. In 2018, commitment and passion for cycling have been renewed. TAG Heuer logos and stopwatches will be at the start line once again, but also at the finish line and for split time calculations.

In 2018, the Giro d'Italia also becomes the first Grand Tour to race outside Europe. Departure to Jerusalem on May 4th, followed by three days of riding in Israel to pay tribute to Gino Bartali. Triple winner of the Giro, and recognized as the “Righteous Among the Nations” for his actions during the Second World War.

From the heights of Etna to the peaks of Abruzzo through the Dolomites, the tour offers a spectacular show that is worthy of the efforts put in by those who try to get around it.

The arrival is scheduled to take place in Rome on May 27th. An iconic place to conclude a 101st edition that promises to be exciting.

As one of the world’s toughest races, TAG Heuer pays tribute to it with a special edition of its TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 connected watch. Limited to 101 copies, this “pink” version is a symbol of victory and determination.
