The race is on and the heat is off in this snowy, treacherous, grueling competition. Legendary Swiss ski mountaineering race La Patrouille des Glaciers sees some of the world’s top athletes brave the wild world of nature in a grueling trek through the Swiss Alps hiking, skiing and rock climbing on their persistent push to the finish line.
They start atop mountain peaks, trek more than 30 miles on snowy, icy mountains and battle a 70-mile altitude difference. They hike, ski and rock climb through heavy blizzards, below freezing temperatures and for more than 20 hours a day with just one goal in mind: the finish line. The Patrouille des Glaciers is the most avant-garde alpine race in the world.
TAG Heuer is the Official Timer and Official Watch of this famous event organized by the Swiss army and open to civilian patrols. The race runs between Zermatt and Verbier in Valais and brings together more than 5000 racers from all over the world. It’s a competition where individual limits are put to the extreme test and teamwork is essential. These mountaineers remain united and unbreakable no matter what Mother Nature throws their way.
