The Red Planet will soon be under the watch of a new programme… The countdown is launched to start this amazing new expedition.
Planet Mars, like you've never seen it. This is the ambitious project led by Chinese authorities developing a program to reach the Red Planet by 2020. After seven months of space travel, a rover will land on the planet to explore it as deeply as possible. The vehicle will weigh 200 kg and will be able to move thanks to its six wheels and four solar panels. The rover will dispose of three Martian months of autonomy. During this time, it will collect data on the environment and atmosphere, but also on the composition of the soil of the solar system's fourth planet.
China is now investing a lot to achieve this goal, and the mission's astronauts will have to keep their mind cool if they want to succeed. Because when you are dealing with space, more than ever, you don't want to crack under pressure… Especially at 75 million kilometers from the Earth!
Scheduled to launch in 2020, the ambitious program aims to explore the topography, soil, environment, and atmosphere of Mars, as well as the distribution of ice and water on the planet, its physical fields and internal structure.
The first Mars exploration mission will consist of entering the Mars orbit, landing on the planet and deploying a rover. It is a big challenge to achieve the three goals in one mission. This is in perfect alignment with the brand spirit of TAG Heuer #DontCrackUnderPressure as well as the perpetual driving force for the progress of mankind.
