TAG Heuer is proud to announce the FIA Formula E Championship’s arrival in the United States for the inaugural New York City ePrix Race. The championship made history by becoming the first open-wheel races sanctioned by the International Automobile Federation to take place within the five boroughs of New York City at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.
TAG Heuer is an active Official Founding Partner of the FIA Formula E Championship since the tournament’s inception in 2014, paving the way for the brand to become the ‘FIA Formula E Official Timing Sponsor’, ‘Official Watch and Chronograph of the Championship’ and the’ Official Timekeeper of the Championship’. TAG Heuer was also the presenting sponsor of the television broadcast on FS1 for the iconic New York City race.
The FIA Formula E Championship season consists of 12 races of all-electric cars in 9 different countries worldwide. The 2016-2017 season is the third season of the championship, beginning in Hong Kong this past October and ending in Montreal on July 30th. The race has been supported in the past by professional teams including Andretti, Audi Sport ABT, Renault and Virgin Racing, validating the young championship’s merit in the racing industry.
