e-TANGO WITH FORMULA-e IN BUENOS AIRES
Some places on earth have an electrifying atmosphere. This is especially true of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, and especially this January 10th, when the city’s electric energy was at full capacity as it played host to the 4th stage of the FIA Formula E championship, the 100% electric motor racing championship. It was an awesome sight to see, with supercharged single-seaters racing full throttle through the city at what felt like a tango rhythm. TAG Heuer, a founding partner of the championship and its official watch, was proud to be along for the ride. The brand’s crest and colors were everywhere—red and green under the Argentinian sky—a perfect match!
Buenos Aires is a symbolic stop for any motor racing championship, but even more so for the most innovative one ever. The competing e-drivers could sense the presence of racing’s greatest driver ever, Juan Manuel Fangio, a god in this country, and a TAG Heuer legend. Fangio would have loved to get behind the wheel of one of these electrically powered machine, and would have pushed himself and it to the limit, no matter the pressure. His spirit electrified the e-Village around the circuit, and was especially powerful at the Fangio Museum in Balcarce.
