Two Latin Grammys, Six Premio Lo Nuestro wins - including Artist of the Year, one MTV Europe Music Award. Six #1 Singles, including a Guinness World Record for the Longest stay at No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart by a single artist. First Latin American artist to receive a diamond certification in the US. Ginza and Ay Vamos’ videos scored records on YouTube.

His sales numbers blow up, his visibility on the Internet is higher than ever. As the trailblazing leader of a second generation of Reggaeton superstars, J Balvin has already created chart-topping hits across Latin America, The United States, Europe and The Middle East. And he wants more.

Born in Colombia and moving to the United States as a teenager, J Balvin grew up with the traditional sounds of cumbia and champeta, but also immersed himself in hip hop, dancehall, rock and the first wave of Reggaeton. The musical influences that have shaped him most are the sounds that come from the streets.

Upon his return to Colombia, Balvin met with quickly growing success in the clubs of Medellín, creating a unique new style of Reggaeton – full of respect for the genre’s early icons, but with a smoother fusion informed by the likes of Drake and Kanye West

With J Balvin’s 2013 hit Yo Te Lo Djie embraced by international DJs and opening doors beyond Latin America, the fuse was lit for a career explosion that soon-after saw Billboard declare the Colombian star to be “the biggest breakout act Latin music has seen in many years.”

Now, J Balvin’s distinctive sound has resulted in Latin Grammy Awards two years in a row, “Artist of the Year” recognition at Univision’s Premios Lo Nuestro, six #1 singles and multiple video view records on YouTube. Balvin has also gained wide respect from artists of multiple genres and languages, as can be seen by his collaborative work ranging from Ariana Grande, Major Lazer and Justin Bieber, to his own recent chart-topping track “Safari” with Pharrell Williams.

With his global smash hit “Ginza” setting a new record for the #1 run on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart by a single artist, and his latest album “Energia” landing as the #1 (Most-consumed) Latin album of 2016, J Balvin now has his sights set on conquering the rest of the world as well.
