FIA Formula E: TAG Heuer celebrates the new season 2016/2017!
Today in Hong Kong, TAG Heuer held a press conference at Central Harbourfront with Mr Leo Poon, TAG Heuer General Manager of Greater China, Mr. Alejandro Agag, CEO of FIA Formula E, and Mr. Lawrence Yu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Automobile Association, to celebrate TAG Heuer as Official Timekeeper & Founding Partner of the FIA Formula E championship, witnessing the excitement of the races and passing on the spirit of #DontCrackUnderPressure. As the first Grand Prix of the new season – and a Premiere, this was the perfect moment to unveil and launch the exclusive App entirely dedicated to the FIA Formula E World Championship.
Before, during and after each Formula E Grand Prix of the whole season, the owners of the TAG Heuer Connected watch will access to a whole set of information, completely integrated within the interactive counters into the Connected watch's aesthetic environment.
On-race and off-race, when and where the next race takes place, who is the favorite driver, ranking of your favorite drivers during the race, progression and Live performance, battery level, and what about the others drivers? Their progression and the gap between them, etc… You are fond of Formula E? You want to be connected to your favorite championship? All will be available at a glance on your wrist. And to make it even more simple to read, enabling the user to stay focused on the essential without this spoiling the watch's classic appearance, the on-race info are highlighted in green, whereas off-race info are highlighted in blue.
This exclusive app developed for the TAG Heuer Connected watch in close partnership with the Formula E organization, is available on an exclusive basis for all Android users, starting with the HK F E Grand Prix taking place on October 8th, 2016.
Since 2014, TAG Heuer is the Official Timekeeper and Founding Partner of the Formula E, the first single-seater fully-electric Championship.
Celebrating its third season, the FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s first fully-electric racing series, is delighted to stage the FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix for the first time in Hong Kong.
Featuring 10 corners with long straights and hairpin bends, the motorsport circuit is approximate 2.2 kilometres in length, while racers will race past iconic landmarks such as Central Star Ferry Pier and City Hall, alongside with the stunning harbour and Hong Kong’s signature skyline.
Starting with a welcome speech by Mr. Leo Poon, followed by Mr. Alejandro Agag, Mr. Lawrence Yu was invited on stage to also share his passion for motorsports. Mr. Leo Poon presented the TAG Heuer Connected Watch with the new dedicated App to Mr. Alejandro Agag and officially launched the new FIA Formula E Championship mobile app for Connected Watch. He presented a TAG Heuer clock to Mr. Chacky Ip, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Automobile Association. All guests took a group photo to commemorate the occasion. The guests were invited to catch a ride on the Crazy Cart, the ultimate drifting machine and 60-meter-high Hong Kong Observation Wheel, giving the most striking views of the harbour and skyline towering above.
