2005
● Finished ninth in point standings driving for Panther Racing. Earned three pole positions and his second career victory at Texas Motor Speedway.
● Won pole positions at Homestead, Texas and Nashville.
2004
● Competed for Panther Racing, earning a best qualifying result of third and best finish of fifth in the season opener at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
● Led at Homestead, Phoenix and Kentucky for a total of 32 laps.
2003
● Finished career-best seventh in point standings driving for Target Chip Ganassi Racing. Had five top-five and 10 top-10 finishes and won MBNA Pole Awards at Texas1 and Michigan.
● Started 12th and finished fourth at 87th Indianapolis 500. Led 63 laps, the most of any driver.
2002
● Scored first career IndyCar Series win at Michigan driving for Red Bull Cheever Racing. Led 122 of 200 laps after starting from the pole. Moved from 11th to first in the final 26 laps to claim the victory.
● Started 10th and led 85 laps before finishing 26th at Indianapolis 500. Crashed in Turn 4 while leading on Lap 173. Named Bank One co-Rookie of the Year with Alex Barron.
● Scored MBNA Pole Awards at spring Texas race, Kansas and Michigan.

● Won Formula Opel Euroseries championship with a record eight victories and eight poles.
● Competed in final two races of Formula Nissan championship, earning the pole in both and victory in one.
1998
● Finished third in the British Formula Vauxhall Junior series with one victory and one pole. Named series Rookie of the Year.

● Scored two victories in the South African Formula Ford series.
