Luxury watches, Swiss watches
Men’s watches and women’s watches by TAG Heuer: where timekeeping becomes an art.

Renowned for their quality and precision, Swiss watches and luxury watches are one in the same. And within the world of Swiss watches, TAG Heuer timepieces are in a class apart. Boasting avant-garde design and advanced technology, they are more than just luxury timepieces or mere sports watches – they are in a category all their own.

TAG Heuer combines manual craftsmanship with the best and latest technology, for ladies’ and men’s watches that bear witness to heritage while inspiring innovation and excellence. Resolutely modern yet enduringly sophisticated, a TAG Heuer watch goes beyond sublime aesthetics: its automatic watches boast high frequencies ranging from 21,600 vibrations per hour to up to 360,000 (as in the case of the Calibre 360), ensuring excellent mechanical precision. For this reason, a number of its automatic watch movements have been awarded the prestigious Official Swiss Chronometer Control (C.O.S.C.) certificate.

It comes as no surprise, then, that TAG Heuer chronograph watches are celebrated as the pinnacle of Swiss watch precision timekeeping. These luxury sport watches are the official timekeepers of one of the world’s most prestigious racing events, the Monaco Grand Prix. In addition, TAG Heuer is the official partner of both America’s-Cup-winner Oracle Team USA and esteemed Formula 1 automotive manufacture McLaren – for a perfect marriage of speed and timekeeping accuracy.

Aesthetically, TAG Heuer timepieces are equally as impressive. Crafted by experts in their field, these luxury Swiss watches combine the finest materials in flawless harmony. Whether blending the best in traditional materials – such as soft calfskin, fine alligator leather, precious solid gold or robust stainless steel – or accenting them with newer, more contemporary materials – including high-tech rubber and modern fabric – TAG Heuer blurs the lines between the preconceived notions of sports watches and luxury watches. Its quality finishes, including fine brushing, black PVD finish and ruthenium treatment, are both refined yet innovative, visually appealing yet always practical.

Meanwhile, its watches for women are the height of understated elegance. Its diamond watches, in particular, add a touch of feminine sparkle to the iconic men’s watch models that have made the TAG Heuer name: the TAG Heuer Carrera, the Monaco, the Link, the Aquaracer and the TAG Heuer Formula 1. With luxury materials and scaled back lines, these stylish ladies’ timepieces carry on the tradition of fine craftsmanship and impeccable precision that has been part of the brand’s DNA for over a century.

All this to say that TAG Heuer timepieces are about more than just luxury or precision: they are the bearer of the finest in Swiss craftsmanship pushed boldly into the future. Aesthetically sublime yet decidedly reliable, finely crafted yet resolutely high-tech, contemporary yet refined, TAG Heuer gives new meaning to luxury watches for men and women.

15 May. TAG Heuer signs major global partnership with FIA Formula E Championship

TAG Heuer, the world’s Number 1 Manufacturer of luxury timepieces inspired by sport, has signed on as Official Timekeeper, Official Watch and Chronograph and Technical Founding Partner of the new FIA Formula E Championship to start in September for the 2014.

The agreement was signed at TAG Heuer’s headquarters in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland by Jean-Christophe Babin, President and CEO of TAG Heuer, and Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E Holdings.

“Teaming up with Formula E, the world’s top competition for electrically-powered racing cars, represents the logical next step for TAG Heuer’s ongoing commitment to motor-sports, as it draws on both our racing heritage and our commitment to sustainability,” said Jean-Christophe Babin. “An intense passion for automobiles has fuelled our technical innovation and performance since the earliest days of the brand. We patented the first dashboard chronograph in 1911, pioneered driver ambassadorship with Jo Siffert in 1969, signed on as the first ‘“non-technical” partner of a Formula One team with Ferrari in the 70s, and continued that tradition with McLaren and its drivers from 1985 to the present day. Through these and our other partnerships -- Indy 500, Audi Sports at Le Mans and World Endurance Championship and the mythical Monaco Grand Prix among them -- we have pushed precision to record-breaking levels.

TAG Heuer has also been deeply involved in sustainable development for years, with for example solar roofs providing electricity in our Swiss facilities. In 2010, we organised with Tesla the very first ever world tour in a 100% electric GT car and in 2011 , we signed on with the Electric Masters Kart in Paris Bercy. So Formula E is a natural fit.”

“Without doubt, TAG Heuer is the perfect partner to the FIA Formula E Championship and we are delighted to have a brand of their prestige, excellence and expertise on board for the inaugural season,” said Alejandro Agag. “TAG Heuer’s time-honoured passion for motor-sport dates backs more than 150 years and their quest to push technology to the highest level of performance epitomises the values of our Championship. As founding partner, they will bring us a global communication platform and the best of their services for teams, drivers, media and fans around the world”.

TAG Heuer Professional Timing, the timekeeping division of the renowned Swiss brand, will provide all live timings for the Championship’s 2014 season, which will take place on 10 street circuits worldwide including London, Rome, Los Angeles, Miami, Rio, Buenos Aires and Beijing. TAG Heuer will also be the exclusive watch brand to appear on track signage at all cities around the world.

Stephane Linder, new TAG Heuer CEO as of June 1, added: “TAG Heuer draws inspiration from the technology, design and artistry of professional motor-racing to produce the world’s most precise, reliable and thrilling timepieces. Formula E promotes interest and investment in electric vehicles and sustainable motoring. We look forward to participating in this noble and exciting endeavour, as we share its values: innovation, performance and sustainable development. And, at the core, a deep and abiding love for the world’s fastest sport.”

The New E-Car

Today’s announcement also sees the unveiling of the first official image of the new-look Formula E car, currently under construction by Spark Racing Technology and featuring a Dallara chassis, Michelin tyres and a powertrain designed and built by TAG Heuer partner McLaren.
