A high-tech Calibre 16 automatic movement powers the chronograph functions like central seconds, plus minutes and hours. A small seconds counter is positioned at 9 o'clock and a date feature at 3 o'clock.
An open flange design allows for easy readability of seconds. A tachymeter scale on the bezel gives average speed measurement. The sapphire crystal fitted into the caseback reveals the movement in action.

Originally designed by Jack Heuer as a tribute to the legendary Tag Heuer Carrera Panamerica Mexico, the TAG Heuer Carrera is instilled with the same bold spirit as the gentlemen drivers who raced there. Reinvented and reinterpreted many times, the elegant TAG Heuer Carrera chronograph remains a contemporary legend.

Named after the legendary Tag Heuer Carrera Panamericana Mexico road race, the Tag Heuer Carrera range has graced the wrists of many racing giants. In 1887, Edouard Heuer made history with the oscillating pinion. In 2010, for our 150th anniversary, we gave it new life and re-engineered it in-house, to create the Calibre 1887 chronograph, which won the “La Petite Aiguille” 2010 Best Watch of the Year Award at the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève. This year, TAG Heuer is reaffirming its watchmaking and motor racing heritage with a prestigious new collection.

The tachymeter indicates the average speed of a car, for example, by measuring the time taken to cover a given distance (a kilometer or a mile).

Automatic chronograph movement

TAG Heuer Automatic chronographs make it possible
to measure times of up to 12 hours with an accuracy
of 1/8th of a second. They are all fitted with very high-
frequency Swiss movements and represent one of the

Scratch resistant sapphire crystal for excellent durability

All our watches are fitted with sapphire crystal. This is cut from a polished slice of solid sapphire that has been created by the fusion and crystallization of alumina. Sapphire is so hard that only a diamond can scratch it.
