Originally designed by Jack Heuer as a tribute to the legendary Tag Heuer Carrera Panamerica Mexico, the TAG Heuer Carrera is instilled with the same bold spirit as the gentlemen drivers who raced there. TAG Heuer Carrera : the timeless collection. In 1887, Edouard Heuer made history with the oscillating pinion. In 1963, Jack Heuer named the Carrera collection after the Carrera Panamericana, a road race of legend. He imagined an iconic design with a wide-open, easy-to-read dial and a shock-resistant and waterproof case tough enough for even the most intense road wear. A mythical series was born. In 2010, the oscillating pinion was used, in a Carrera case, to create the Calibre 1887, the in-house calibre chronograph. A half-century after its dramatic arrival in the watchmaking scene, the timeless Carrera remains the standard-bearer of TAG Heuer’s unrivalled watchmaking pedigree and motor racing heritage. This year, the brand proudly celebrates the Carrera’s 50th anniversary with the launch of exceptional new timepieces to pay tribute to five decades of inspired design and revolutionary technology.

The tachymeter indicates the average speed of a car, for example, by measuring the time taken to cover a given distance (a kilometer or a mile).

All our watches are fitted with sapphire crystal. This is cut from a polished slice of solid sapphire that has been created by the fusion and crystallization of alumina. Sapphire is so hard that only a diamond can scratch it.
