26 MAY. Leonardo DiCaprio & Cameron Diaz at the Monaco Grand Prix
Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, racing legends and Monegasque royalty helped TAG Heuer celebrate its ongoing partnership with the ACM and the Monaco Grand Prix at the 71st running of motor-sport’s most glamorous race.
Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz attended the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend as special guests of their brand partner, TAG Heuer, the world leader in prestigious and high-end chronographs.
On Saturday, the two actors attended an exclusive TAG Heuer cocktail party onboard the Swiss watchmaker’s yacht in Port Hercules. They were joined by Monaco’s Sovereign, HSH Prince Albert II, and a host of Formula One luminaries, including Jenson Button, Sergio Perez and Romain Grosjean, the drivers of TAG Heuer’s longtime partner in Formula One, McLaren Vodafone Mercedes. Also in attendance were F1 legend Alain Prost and World Rally Championship leader Sebastien Ogier, top model David Gandy, and a number of journalists and key business partners of the brand.
On Sunday, Cameron and Leonardo were right next to the action, rooting for Jenson Button and Sergio Perez as TAG Heuer’s guests in the McLaren Vodafone Mercedes’ pit lane. Leo and Cameron watched the exciting race unfold from inside the TAG Heuer VIP Lounge. Among the other VIP guests following the action were DJ Bob Sinclar and Swiss singer Bastian Baker. The stars stayed and mingled with the TAG Heuer guests for the entire afternoon.
On Cameron Diaz’s wrist all weekend was the new Monaco ACM chronograph-- the newest edition in the iconic watch series first launched in 1969, and worn by Steve McQueen’s character in the movie Le Mans (1971). DiCaprio wore his favorite, the high-tech, super-chic and extreme shock-protected TAG Heuer Monaco 24.
“I grew up watching the Grand Prix of Long Beach, which was my first glimpse into the excitement of open wheel racing,” ”said Cameron Diaz after the event, “and I’m thrilled to be here now, at the most prestigious race on the Formula One circuit as part of the TAG Heuer family.'
“Monaco is the greatest race in the world,” said Leonardo DiCaprio. “I’ve been happy to work with TAG Heuer for several years on environmental and sustainability initiatives, especially with the NRDC and Green Cross International. I'm looking forward to our newest adventures together with Formula E.”
