Com este 7° premio do Grande Premio de Relojoaria de Genebra em apenas 10 anos, a TAG Heuer confirma seu domínio inigualável em relógios de extrema complexidade.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Heritage has been named te 2011 Swiss Watch of the Year in the Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Genève’s prestigious “La Petite Aiguille” (“Small Hand”) category.

The Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Genève is the Swiss watch industry’s most important award competition. The prize of “La Petite Aiguille” rewards the best watch of the year whose price is under 5,000 Swiss francs. The Tag Heuer Carrera Heritage's victory marks the 7th time in 9 years that TAG Heuer has been singled out by the Geneva jury for its engineering and design prowess, and the second year in a row that it has won La Petite Aiguile — last year, the TAG Heuer CARRERA 1887 mechanical chronograph took home the prize.

“We're very proud of our newest Tag Heuer Carrera — a worthy addition to one of TAG Heuer's most important heritage lines — and delighted that the Geneva jury has singled it for special recognition,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, the Swiss brand’s CEO. “The Mikrotimer Flying 1000 and the Monza stole headlines this year, but the Tag Heuer Carrera Heritage is a runaway success. It's a hugely important commercial model for us.”

“Mastering Speed for 150 Years”

The Tag Heuer Carrera Heritage Collection of automatic watches and chronographs reinterprets the original Tag Heuer Carrera — motor racing's most iconic timepiece — through the full arc of TAG Heuer's “Mastering Speed for 150 Years” 2011 celebrations. Its “flinque” engraving dial finish and boldly coloured numerals and hands reflect vintage aesthetics. Certain details echo the original 1964 Tag Heuer Carrera, while others like the sub-dials, crown, pushbuttons and bezel, are inspired by a 1945 Heuer . The case options are steel, steel and gold, and steel and rose gold, all with crystal sapphire case back showing the cogs and wheels of the movement inside.

“This is great victory for TAG Heuer, and for our Honorary Chairman Jack Heuer,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, TAG Heuer President and CEO. “Jack is the creative genius behind so many of our icons, among them the Monaco, the Silverstone and, of course, the Tag Heuer Carrera. He designed the first Tag Heuer Carrera in 1964 and has overseen every new generation since. This new range celebrates that legacy.”
